LanzaTech is on fire! This time taking on the ethylene industry! The company announced it has engineered biocatalysts to produce ethylene from CO2 in a continuous process. Ethylene is one of the three largest carbon emitters in the chemical industry. • Ginkgo inks $144M deal with Merck to engineer enzymes to improve ingredient manufacturing: The partnership will have Ginkgo develop a strain of biocatalysts that can be used in chemical synthesis for the production of APIs.

• Danish biotech pioneer, Biosyntia, has closed a follow-on investment to their series B, making the round oversubscribed and totalling 17.5 mEUR. The investment will support Biosyntia’s production of sustainable active ingredients for personal care, human and animal nutrition.
