Hi ,

The synthetic biology ecosystem has slowly evolved to include more women, but still women are underrepresented as founders, investors and board members. If you couldn't make it to SynBioBeta this year, check out this video, "Opportunities & Challenges for Women Founders & Investors in Synthetic Biology." The panelists shared how they successfully achieved their goals, and what they learned along the way.

Milana Boukhman Trounce of Stanford University, Karyn Riegel of Leaps by Bayer, and Natalie Kuldell of BioBuilder at SynBioBeta 2022.

Congratulations to Terri Shieh-Newton, PhD for being named as one of the 2022 "Top 250 Women in IP" by Managing IP. You can meet Terri and many other key movers and shakers of the industry at our flagship event at the Oakland Marriott, May 23-25, 2023. Tickets went on sale this week!

It's great to see a newly announced collaboration of two Leaps by Bayer portfolio companies, Affini-T Therapeutics and Metagenomi, to create new opportunities for cancer patients by combining Metagenomi’s gene editing systems and Affini-T’s TCR discovery and synthetic biology platform.

In other news, ResVita Bio received Rare Pediatric Disease Designation for RVB-001 as a Treatment for Netherton Syndrome. Through synthetic biology and metabolic engineering, they are developing a skin probiotic platform to deliver therapies that directly treat inflammatory skin diseases.

Umaro Foods is launching its seaweed-based bacon into three US restaurants, marking the first time consumers can try the brand’s innovative protein.
