Based on their feedback, we at SynBioBeta believe that by closely adhering to all CDC guidelines for “safe events” (proof of vaccination, negative COVID test within 72 hours, masks required indoor/outdoor, etc.), we can stage this live event safely and effectively. Rest assured, these guidelines will be clearly communicated to all attendees.

- Imperial researchers have created 3D building blocks that can heal themselves in response to damage. The engineered living materials (ELMs) exploit biology’s ability to heal and replenish material and could respond to damage in harsh environments using a sense-and-response system.
- Huue, a company using a bio-based approach to making more environmentally-friendly indigo dye, is the first small startup to sign up with Ginkgo Bioworks' automated synthetic biology platform.
- Company founded by MIT alumnus lets anyone run DNA experiments: MiniPCR bio has sold thousands of its inexpensive polymerase chain reaction machines to researchers and schools around the world.
- Researchers have modified a common bacterium to spit out an entire rainbow of dyes for food, clothing, cosmetics, and more.
