Hi ,

With just six weeks to go until SynBioBeta 2025, we’re thrilled to welcome two visionary keynote speakers to the stage: Jason Chin, founder and CSO of Constructive Biology, who is a pioneer in genome writing and synthetic genomics, and Alexandre Zanghellini, co-founder and CEO of Arzeda, who’s designing proteins to build a more sustainable future.

This week’s top Insights dive into two major frontiers of synthetic biology: the future of food and the evolution of health. In “Protein Without the Moo,” we explore how precision fermentation is reshaping agriculture—offering sustainable, animal-free proteins, and the scale-up challenges that remain. Meanwhile, “There’s a New Generation of Probiotics Coming” reveals how engineered microbes are targeting specific health outcomes, creating a smarter, more personalized approach to wellness.

Plus, get the latest on AI-powered DNA data storage, plant-based electronics, live-probiotic skincare, and cutting-edge funding news.

Enjoy your week!

Two Bold Visions. Two Transformative Voices. Both Taking the Stage at SynBioBeta 2025

Jason Chin is the Founder, Director, and CSO of Constructive Biology.

On the morning of Tuesday, May 6, Jason will discuss his latest work in synthetic genomics programable cells, and  sustainable biofactories. He is a pioneer in genome writing and genetic code expansion—reprogramming life at its most fundamental level. With over 150 publications and a place in the European Inventor Hall of Fame, his groundbreaking work is setting the stage for a new era of biology.

Alexandre Zanghellini, co-founder and CEO of Arzeda, is also taking the stage.

On Tuesday, May 6, Alex will give a Keynote presentation entitled "When Life Gives You Proteins, Build a Greener Tomorrow," exploring how Arzeda’s protein design platform is tackling global sustainability challenges. As one of the visionaries behind Arzeda’s groundbreaking biotech platform, Alex offers a powerful perspective on how biology can help build a better, greener future.
